‘Ejja ha nsajru flimkien fil-kcina Ms’

As part of the Emergent Curriculum, before starting a new project we have to create a mind map with the children. The theme chosen for these 5 weeks is ‘Ejja ha nsajru flimkien fil-kcina Ms’. Throughout this activity, the children had to share their own knowledge on what they know about the kitchen.

Animal Habitats

After the outing at ‘L-Arka ta’ Noe’, the children wanted to enhance their own knowledge about the various habitats of the animals. Please click on the image below to learn more.

We went to l-Arka to Noe!

To see if the children are interested in exotic animals, we went to the zoo named ‘L-Arka ta’ Noe’. As seen above, the children saw various and multiple animals such as the lions, tigers, lamas and kangaroo amongst others. Most of the animal that the children loved is the lion. A child said that he loves the lion most because it seems like a big cat. Another child noted that he loves the lion because he roars harshly. The children were very intrigued as they were asking multiple questions. The children also got the chance to sit down in the big field and eat lunch. After lunch, the children discussed what they have enjoyed about such outing and which activities they wanted to do regarding exotic animals.

Onġi onġi onġella!

This morning we went to a TOI TOI outing at the Teatru Manoel. This was a music event adapted for children at the age of three years old. The children got to learn a traditional song known as ‘bumm bumm il-bieb!’. Apart from this, the children also got to discover the most well-known games and nursery-rhymes that have accompanied Maltese children throughout the ages. Hence, the children got an insight of the Maltese folklore.

Movie outing

Today, the children and I went to an outing to the Eden Cinemas. The children watched the movie ‘Sonic The Hedgehog‘. The children had fun watching the movie as they were all attentive. At times the children asked me some questions regarding the characters of the movie and the sequence. The children were also given a bag of popcorn which they had eaten throughout the movie. When the movie was finished, we went back to school and the children had to draw something that they like about the cinema or the movie.
