Physical activity with a cooking pot ðŸ¥˜

Apart from mostly learning the purpose of the cooking pot, the children improved other skills. From this activity the children enhanced their gross motor skills such as by squatting and running. The child further improved their fine motor skills (palmar grasp) by grabbing the cooking pot. The children also worked in a team and so they improved their turn taking skills.

Resources needed: Cooking pot

‘o’, ‘m’, ‘i’

‘o’, ‘m’, ‘i’ – the letters that we are trying to learn! For this activity, the children were provided with 3 partycups. Each cup had a specific letter.
– First, I had a marble in a cup and the shuffled the cups. The children had to guess in which one it is by saying the letter.
– Secondly, I switched roles with the children. The children were the ‘teachers’ and were asking the others where they think the marbles.
– Thirdly, I asked the children to put the marble on top of a specific lettered cup.

Resources needed: Marbles, paper cups, whiteboard markers, small blank papers, tape

‘Ejja ha nsajru flimkien fil-kcina Ms’

As part of the Emergent Curriculum, before starting a new project we have to create a mind map with the children. The theme chosen for these 5 weeks is ‘Ejja ha nsajru flimkien fil-kcina Ms’. Throughout this activity, the children had to share their own knowledge on what they know about the kitchen.
